What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Atlas Search?
A long-standing family-owned material wholesaler is looking to add to their accounting team. This is an addition to the team due to growth.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports while assisting the Accounting Manager with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
- Reconcile financial records, including bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial reports.
- Process expense reports using Concur or similar expense management software.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Review and analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain and reconcile Fixed Assets and Insurance records.
- Prepare quarterly and annual sales and fuel tax returns.
- Assist with various special projects and additional duties as assigned (e.g., UEZ Annual Reporting, invoice scanning, etc.).
- Review and update standard operating procedures to improve efficiency.
- Provide backup support for the Accounting Department as needed.
- Ensure all communications and actions align with the company’s mission, vision, and culture.
- Manage time effectively, meet personal objectives, and collaborate with team members.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to learn quickly, demonstrate attention to detail, and work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounts payable systems.
- Knowledge of QuickBooks.
- Experience with Bank of America Cash Pro and/or Bill.com is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
