Summary of Position

The Assistant Controller is responsible for supporting the financial integrity of the organization by managing day-to-day accounting tasks, performing critical financial reconciliations, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. This role involves maintaining precise records, analyzing key transactions, and assisting leadership in cost accounting and financial alignment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform daily bank reconciliations for all company accounts.
• Manage bank uploads and ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Review key transactions such as inventory adjustments to ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Conduct ad hoc cleanup work, including re-posting transactions that need reclassification between the P&L and balance sheet.
• Monitor and resolve out-of-alignment transactions related to the 3-way match process.
• Run NetSuite’s 3-way match process weekly and address discrepancies.
• Prepare month-end financial wrap-ups, ensuring all accounts are balanced and accurate.
• Assist functional leadership with maintaining accurate cost accounting and account true-ups.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform other functions as necessary or as assigned.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.

Company Requirements:

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred but not required.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a mid-sized company.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.

Skills

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reconciliation.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
