Controller – Holding Company
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Controller for our holding company. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, and managing financial operations across diverse subsidiaries. This role will oversee the financial reporting, consolidation, and internal controls for the holding company and its portfolio of businesses. The Controller will collaborate closely with senior management, driving efficient financial decision-making and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements for the holding company and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant accounting standards.
- Consolidation & Intercompany Transactions:
- Manage the consolidation process for the holding company’s subsidiaries, including eliminating intercompany transactions and ensuring proper accounting of investments in subsidiaries.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budget process and prepare periodic financial forecasts. Provide valuable financial insights to help optimize performance across the holding company’s portfolio.
- Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Ensure the implementation of strong internal controls to safeguard assets, mitigate risk, and guarantee compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Oversee cash flow management and liquidity for the holding company, including monitoring capital requirements and optimizing working capital.
- Audit & Tax Coordination:
- Work closely with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and manage tax reporting processes for the holding company. Ensure timely filing of tax returns and compliance with corporate tax laws.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, ensuring continuous development and alignment with organizational goals. Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Strategic Support:
- Provide senior management with critical financial insights to guide strategic decision-making, acquisitions, and investments within the holding company’s portfolio.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- CPA or similar certification (strongly preferred)
- 8 years of accounting and finance experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial or controllership role
- Extensive experience with consolidation accounting and managing multiple entities
- Strong understanding of GAAP, tax compliance, and financial reporting
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with ERP systems a plus)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Proven ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced, multi-entity environment
Salary : $150,000 - $200,000
