What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Corporate Actions Associate position at Atlas Search?
We are working with a multi-billion dollar global investment manager seeking a Sr. Corporate Actions Associate 2 days onsite in their Stamford, CT office. Please see details below:
What you’ll do:
· Process all Mandatory and Voluntary events, including but not restricted to tenders, rights offers, conversions, optional dividends, SPAC splits, cash and stock dividends, stock splits, as well as cash and stock mergers (primarily focused on non-US events and US Mandatories pre-market).
· Perform daily review of all Corporate Actions notifications from Prime Brokers and Counterparties as well as C/A tool to assess impact on our accounts and distribute information to our portfolio managers and their staff.
· Follow the life cycle of all Voluntary events from the time received from the prime brokers to soliciting responses from the portfolio managers, managing due dates, and relaying those responses to the prime brokers and processing the event in our ledger system.
· Have familiarity with 302 Certification process for withholding.
· Assist with sourcing any necessary supporting documentation for class action claims
· Ability to work with external consultants for part of the corporate actions process
· Assist in the reconciliation of Corporate Action events with shadow books and Administrator and resolve Cash and position breaks in a timely fashion.
· Analyze pre and post pre and post corporate action events booking to ensure that pnl is correct, working with the middle office – product control team.
· Build out processes to ensure all actionable events are accounted for and that all events are well communicated with the correspond desk.
· Execute investigative research and analysis on corporate action submissions across all corporate action events.
· Understand options processing as they relate to corporate action events.
· Guide the handling of Restructuring events, liaising with multiple teams to ensure strict deadlines are met and all deliverables are completed
Qualifications:
· At least 5 years of experience in the Corporate Actions space
· Exposure to various financial products i.e. Equities, Derivatives, Convertible and Corp Bonds
· Great communication skills, both verbal and written as you will be working with portfolio managers on a regular basis to ensure we get elections on voluntary events and to ensure they understand the impact of the different elections available.
· Experience onboarding a corporate actions system a major plus to enhance automation. Recently launched CA SaaS with MCA Data. Understanding the required data flows and processes and ability to automate as many items as possible to mitigate risk.
· Ability to handle ad-hoc corporate action instructions from PMs for conversions, warrant exercises, and exchanges, with an emphasis on following up with Prime Brokers and Counterparties to provide timely updates to the desk.
· Candidate must be process oriented and able to document and contribute to improving efficiencies.
· Must be adaptive and flexible.
· Professional, very detailed oriented, and highly organized.
· Ability to prioritize and manage their time effectively and work independently.
· Adaptability in fast growing environment.
· Must be able to take initiative and facilitate various needs to various departments within the firm including front office.
· Experience with Mark-It MCA Data a plus
· Proficiency in a variety of computer systems including Bloomberg, FIS/VPM or other accounting ledgers and Corporate Action related tools.
Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
