What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabrication Technician position at Atlas Sign Industries?
Atlas Sign Industries is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Sign Fabricator/Welder to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing and assembling custom signage for commercial, industrial and retail applications. This role requires expertise in working with various materials including aluminum and acrylic to create high-quality, durable signs that meet client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Positioning, aligning, fitting, welding and fabricating parts to form a complete unit or subunit.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to ensure accurate sign production.
- Verifying conformance of workpieces to specifications using squares, rulers and measuring tapes
- Tack-welding fitted parts together
- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders and drill presses to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components.
- Align and fit parts according to specifications using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years or more experience in sheet metal fabrication, aluminum welding or related field preferred
- Knowledge of design techniques and tools necessary in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models required
- Works well in a team environment
- Hours: 6:00 am-2:30 pm M-F
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Some trade school coursework is preferred
- Must be able to regularly lift 10 pounds, frequently lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift 75 pounds.
