Painter/Prepper

Atlas Sign Industries is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Signage Painter to join our growing team. This role involves preparing, painting and finishing various types of commercial signs using a variety of techniques and materials. The ideal candidate will have experience with spray painting, hand-painting, and surface preparation while ensuring a high-quality, professional finish that meets client and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receives job order and sign component. Determine requirements of the job order.
• Prepares surfaces by cleaning, sanding, priming, masking and air blowing dust and dirt as needed.
• Mix and match paints to achieve color specifications to the desired colors and finishes.
• Apply paint using spray guns, brushes, rollers, or other techniques as required.
• Ensure even and durable paint application on different signage materials, including metal, acrylic, plastic, and wood.
• Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
• Transports parts in paint booth and sprays with primer. Continue the process of light sanding and/or cleaning as required.
• Maintain and clean painting equipment, spray booths, and work areas.
• Follow safety guidelines and proper ventilation procedures when working with paints and chemicals.
• Ensures all signage meets company and client specifications before installation or delivery.
• Completes inventory usage log and time logs.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Exceptional attention to detail and strict adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
• Previous experience as a commercial signage or automotive painting preferred.
• Knowledge of different paint types, coatings, and finishing techniques.
• Proficiency in using spray guns, airbrushes, and other painting tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and design specifications.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divided in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• High School Diploma or equivalent. Some trade school coursework preferred.
• Two years or more of related experience.
