Firewall Engineer

Atlas Technologies, a rapidly expanding company supporting the US Military and other Government entities, is seeking a passionate, flexible, highly motivated team player to join our group of Information Technology professionals. We are seeking a full-time Firewall Engineer who will independently troubleshoot Enterprise Network issues to ensure continuity of service for our Defense Health Agency (DHA) customers.

Workhours – Telework from San Antonio, TX area Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (10:30 PM-6 AM) with 1 day a week onsite (Tuesday night to Wednesday morning)

You Will:

• Evaluate circumstances, identify root causes, and develop a plan for resolution.
• Provide Tier I/II helpdesk support for all tenants in the DHA network.
• Triage issues and resolve and/or escalate to the appropriate network teams for remediation.
• Engage with internal and external customers to provide status updates on network issues.
• Troubleshoot issues with a variety of different network devices and protocols.
• Work in a team setting and make recommendations related to troubleshooting, device configuration, and documentation.
• Document projects, support actions, and other administrative artifacts to serve as reference material for related support activities and management staff.
• Ensure incidents and service requests adhere to established service level agreements.
• Resolve issues in a timely manner dealing with a variety of different network devices and protocols following applicable reporting formats.
• Support shifts to cover a 24x7 operational environment when required.
  
  

You Have:

• U.S. Citizenship.
• A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance.
• 5 years relevant experience in supporting a large network infrastructure.
• An understanding of complex networks and be able to utilize the latest practices and principles to resolve issues.
• A strong working knowledge with Cisco Routers/Switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, and F5 Network devices.
• A strong sense of urgency including self-governance on task priority.
• A solid understanding of TCP/IP regarding routing and subnetting.
• The ability to work in a dynamic, high paced, team environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• A baseline Security Certification: (CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, or SCCP).
• Operating Environment Certification: Cisco (CCNA or CCNP) or Palo Alto certification.
• Experience with the following Network protocols and services:
• Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP)
• Access Control Lists
• Layer 2 Switching
• Spanning Tree
• Packet Analysis

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
