We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Atlas Safety Team as our Transportation Safety Manager! The Manager of Safety oversees the corporate safety and compliance program, ensuring adherence to company policies and State and Federal DOT regulations. This role leads the safety team, manages compliance efforts, audits processes, and represents the organization at industry events to promote safety initiatives. With a focus on maintaining high standards, the Manager ensures the well-being of drivers, equipment, and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the safety team to ensure high performance, timely completion of workloads, and effective execution of responsibilities.
- Oversee the implementation and enforcement of the corporate safety and compliance program, ensuring adherence to Atlas policies, internal rules, and State and Federal DOT regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and ensure team members are knowledgeable about regulations relevant to their areas of responsibility.
- Conduct audits of staff work to ensure regulatory compliance across all safety-related activities.
- Monitor and manage external reporting requirements, including CSA scores, driver training records, and safety program documentation.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with vendors to support safety initiatives.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, committees, and other external events to promote safety standards and initiatives.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to handle after-hours accident intake and related responsibilities.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, Safety Management, or a related field is preferred.
- 5 years management experience required. Safety or transportation management preferred or equivalent combination of both education and experience are required.
- Working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs).
- Previous experience managing a team and working in a multi-facility environment with owner operators is preferred.
