About the Role
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly in the construction industry. This individual will be responsible for assisting with financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, job costing, and other accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
- Maintain accurate job costing records, including tracking expenses, labor costs, and overhead allocations for ongoing projects.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation for audits, providing documentation and resolving inquiries.
- Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to ensure accuracy.
Requirements
- 2 - 3 years of accounting experience in the construction or service industry preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
