Position Overview :
The Project Manager (Heavy Civil and Transportation Construction) will oversee the work of the superintendents, ensuring projects stay on time and within budget while adhering to all company and OSHA safety requirements. This Project Manager (Heavy Civil and Transportation Construction) role is focused on heavy highway civil projects within the St. Louis Metro area.
Responsibilities of the Project Manager (Heavy Civil and Transportation Construction) :
- Oversee all aspects of heavy civil construction projects, including moving dirt, sewer installation, grading, and other groundwork.
- Manage project clients, field supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Lead preconstruction planning, including project scope, estimating, and preparation of bid proposals.
- Develop detailed project schedules, including sequencing of tasks for dirt work, utility installation, and other site work.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure safety compliance and quality control, and that the work is progressing according to plan.
- Coordinate material procurement and subcontractor schedules to keep projects on track.
- Ensure all project activities meet OSHA safety standards and company safety policies.
- Track project performance, including progress reports, financial tracking, and status updates for stakeholders.
- Prepare pay estimates and follow up to ensure timely payments.
- Review contract documents and scope of work, ensuring that all terms are understood and adhered to.
- Prepare and track project submittals, including equipment, material certifications, and drawings for approval.
- Attend and lead regular project meetings with internal and external teams to address challenges and ensure project goals are met.
