Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technician to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons during various procedures, ensuring that the operating room is prepared and maintained to the highest standards. This position requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies as needed.
- Monitor vital signs of patients during surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow in the operating room.
- Maintain knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology to assist in various surgical specialties, including pediatrics, critical care, and medical-surgical procedures.
- Perform suture techniques as directed by the surgeon.
- Ensure all surgical instruments are accounted for before and after procedures.
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments following established protocols.
- Document relevant information regarding patient care and surgical procedures accurately.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Pediatrics
- Vital signs monitoring
- Anatomy knowledge
- Medical terminology
- Hospital medicine practices
- Critical care environments
- Medical-surgical settings
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU) protocols
- Suture techniques
- Experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center is a plus
