Responsibilities:
- Conducts intermediate to high-level diagnostic and preventative upkeep. This involves:
- Observing equipment to determine issue sources
- Taking apart devices to access faulty components
- Inspects replacements for defects
- Adjusting parts and control instruments
- Replacing or repairing damaged components
- Testing devices post-repair for performance accuracy
- Handling electrical circuitry and mechanical systems evaluations
- Reconditioning and restoring machine tools
- Sources necessary parts, supplies, and repair items meticulously.
- Executes maintenance tasks independently adhering to industry norms.
- Operates multiple machinery types like lathes, drill presses, and grinders; includes occasional welding duties.
- Practices strict adherence to 5S and cleanliness standards.
- Initiates and engages in Continuous Improvement (CI) activities focusing on process enhancement, outcomes, and cost reduction.
- Documents and examines Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) records.
- Solves software/hardware and setup problems within control systems.
- Leverages predictive maintenance technologies for gathering machinery performance data.
- Guides junior technicians and leads minor team projects; takes on advanced tasks for educational growth.
- Partakes in both practical and independent technical learning programs for career advancement.
- Adheres to all safety policies, guidelines, and expert instructions, always ensuring situational safety and awareness.
Required Expertise:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Technical Associate degree with minimum three years’ relevant industry experience or equivalent five years’ experience in a similar field, or completion of ATS Technician Progression Program.
- Competent in electrical, mechanical, fluid dynamics, and control systems with problem-solving and repair proficiency.
- Proficient in basic hand and specialized tool application.
- Potential travel requirements.
Working Conditions:
- Position requires regular standing, walking, manual dexterity, reaching, climbing, and operating at heights requiring ladders or lifts.
- Activities may include stooping, kneeling, crouching in limited spaces, and the need to communicate effectively.
- Occasional seated tasks, occasional lifting above 50 pounds.
- Requires keen close and color vision.
- Intermittent exposure to outdoor environments and electrical hazards.
