Job Title: Part-Time Quality Assurance (25 hours per month)

Location: Essex and Passaic

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Quality Assurance (QA) professional to contribute approximately 25 hours per month. The ideal candidate should have expertise in the policies and procedures of the Developmental Disabilities Division (DDD), specifically in residential group homes. A solid background in human services and disability care is essential. This position offers flexible scheduling, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking to balance work with other responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring Compliance with Standards and Regulations: Ensuring that the group home meets all state and federal regulations, licensing requirements, and industry standards for care, safety, and treatment protocols.
  • Conducting Audits and Inspections: Regularly performing inspections of the facilities, reviewing client care plans, and auditing records to ensure all procedures and services are being carried out according to established guidelines.
  • Training and Development: Providing training for staff on quality standards, care practices, and proper documentation to ensure everyone is aligned with the quality expectations.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Keeping thorough records of inspections, audits, and any issues identified. They would also report on quality metrics to management and propose improvements where needed.
  • Implementing Improvement Plans: Identifying areas where service or care delivery can be improved and working with management and staff to develop and implement action plans.
  • Client Satisfaction: Ensuring the quality of life and satisfaction of residents through surveys, feedback collection, and ensuring concerns are addressed promptly.
  • Incident Management: Investigating any incidents or complaints regarding resident care or safety, analyzing root causes, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Experience: They likely have years of experience working in settings that support individuals with developmental disabilities, such as group homes or other residential care environments. This experience is often paired with specialized training in disability care, safety protocols, and the principles of person-centered planning.
  • Knowledgeable about Regulations and Standards: They are well-versed in the DDD policies, including but not limited to, state and federal regulations, funding guidelines, and licensing requirements. They would understand the specifics around care plans, health and safety standards, and the rights of the individuals they support.
  • Understanding of Documentation and Reporting: They would know how to properly maintain records that comply with DDD standards, including individual service plans (ISPs), behavior plans, and health assessments. They would also be knowledgeable about how to document incidents, communicate with oversight agencies, and ensure timely reporting to maintain compliance with regulations.
  • Commitment to Best Practices: They understand the importance of supporting individuals in a way that respects their autonomy and promotes their independence. This includes having a solid grasp of best practices in care, as well as the importance of proper training for staff and a focus on creating a supportive, inclusive environment.
  • Skills in Advocacy: They know how to advocate for the individuals in the group home, ensuring they receive the services they are entitled to, and that their needs are met. This includes a strong understanding of how to work with families, outside agencies, and other stakeholders to create a holistic support system.
  • Strong Communication and Leadership Abilities: They likely hold leadership or supervisory roles, guiding staff on daily operations, training, and troubleshooting issues. They’re able to communicate clearly with team members, service providers, and regulatory bodies, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while maintaining compliance.
  • Compassionate and Empathetic: While deeply knowledgeable, they also demonstrate empathy and understanding toward the individuals in their care, ensuring that the environment is nurturing and empathetic.

  • Flexible hours, totaling up to 25 hours per month
