Description
The Housing Support Coordinator provides community-based services and assistance to 14-17 correctional clients residing in five transitional housing locations around St. Paul, following their release and transition back to their home community. This is a full-time position that provides monitoring checks, property management (50%) and some case management (40%) to clients referred to Attic Correctional Services. Clients (tenants) will be offenders of varying risk/need for supervision with the Department of Corrections. The hours of work associated with this position will be scheduled on a flexible and random basis. The position will primarily work Monday through Friday.
· Daily monitoring checks on five locations
· Client intake and discharge
· Client meetings, UA & BA
· Monitor and report client progress based on case plan
· Property maintenance including daily checklists
· Monitor and administer household supply inventory
· Assist clients with independent living skills
· Cleaning/preparing vacant rooms and houses
· Maintain activity records, incident reports and other required information
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Access to his/her own vehicle.
· Valid driver’s license, good driving and proof of insurance.
· Ability to travel frequently.
· Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to interactions with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to interact with staff, clients, and other parties in an effective manner while maintaining professional boundaries.
· Strong decision-making abilities and self- motivated.
· Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of all agency information.
Education & Work Experience:
· Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field strongly preferred
· 1 year experience and/or education relating to corrections, community-based residential facilities (CBRF), criminal justice, human services, psychology, sociology, security, social service, mental health, behavioral health, or law enforcement preferred.
· 3 years’ experience with correctional clients from diverse backgrounds preferred
Salary : $20
