Music/Chorus Teacher (1.0)
Attleboro High School
This teacher is responsible for teaching all students a standards-based curriculum in an engaging and hands-on manner. This teacher is also expected to grow our choral program through in school and stipended after-school sessions. The ideal candidate will possess a commitment to all students and to the vision and mission of the Attleboro Public Schools.
Qualifications:
- Measurable evidence of driving student achievement gains.
- The most qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate evidence of all aspects of high school school music instruction: curriculum development, organization of band/choral events beyond the school day, and collaboration with families.
- Support the mission, vision, values, and goals of the school.
- Create, plan, and teach a rigorous curriculum while meeting the needs of a diverse student population.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate student outcomes through informal and formative assessments.
- Effectively and consistently communicates and interacts with students, families, staff, and community.
- Develop, selects and differentiate instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
- Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and the emotional development of children.
- Experience working with students academically or behaviorally "at-risk" and/or students with disabilities is preferred.
- Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Ability to work collaboratively with administration and teaching staff.
- Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.
- Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
- DESE licensure and certification required.
- Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required.
