Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Supervisor oversees and supports growing, harvesting, packing and maintenance operations at the Loudon facility. This is a leadership role to support and educate all personnel in on our Quality and Food Safety programs. This position assists in ensuring compliance to FDA, State Department of Health, National Organic Program, and Corporate Food Safety requirements.
Core Responsibilities:
- Ensure that employees in the Growing areas are following Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)
- Ensure that employees in the Harvesting and Packing areas are compliant with FDA regulations for Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Human Food (GMPs)
- Ensure compliance to Corporate QA Food Safety programs and policies * Prepare for and participate in GFSI, CCOF, and customer audits of farm and packing operations
- Participate in any product mock recall/recalls * Ensure compliance to National Organic Program certification requirements
- Oversee Packing Sanitation team and Environmental Monitoring Program
Secondary Duties:
- Ensure that facility noncompliance's are addressed through root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Provide relevant training and materials for facility GAP and GMP needs; Assist in development of robust training programs
- Other duties as requested by the manager
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of FSMA regulations and guidelines
- FSMA PCQI Certified (within last 5 years), preferred
- HACCP certified, preferred
- Experience with National Organic Program compliance
- Good communication (written and verbal) skills (English), critical thinking, and leadership skills * Ability to lead and motivate people
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to assist investigations of customer complaints
Supervisor Responsibilities: This position manages technicians in the department and is responsible for performance management within that department. Direct Reports: QA Technicians
- Responsible for interviewing, selecting and training direct reports
- Responsible for reviewing performance and administering corrective action
- Plans the work schedules, assigns duties, tracks absenteeism and reviews work to ensure quality standards
- Responsible for monitoring work for legal or regulatory compliance

Education & Work Experience:
Required:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of QA/QC experience in a food manufacturing facility
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office 365 Programs Desired:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Management, Food Science, or other related field.
- Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish * Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
- PCQI or HACCP certified
Work Environment:
Varying temperatures throughout the facility; as low as 34°F in coolers, warmer temperatures in other parts of the facility. Floors are level concrete. Office environment is typically
