What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President of Manufacturing position at AtWork Personnel?
AtWork Personnel is currently partnering with a fast-growing Metals Manufacturer in Phoenix, AZ, who is looking for a Vice President Operations to support their growing business. The VP Operations will support the production efforts on the floor in collaboration with the Production Manager as well as work side by side with the CEO/Ownership managing the P&L and executing initiatives regarding the production planning schedule, process improvements and efficiencies. This is a hands-on position offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on the immediate and long-term operational success of the business. We are looking for metals and fabrication experience, and proven operational leadership, including reporting, financial analysis review and recommendations.
Compensation: 165K - 185K / Bonus, Medical, Dental, Vision, and PTO
Responsibilities and Areas of Knowledge Requirements:
Production Experience:
- Experience with metals, wire handling, pipe products, electrical enclosures, power distribution assemblies.
- Hands on Leadership in Production, Quality Assurance & Compliance, Financial Oversight, Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain, Team Building & Development.
- Experience managing P&L's, Strategic Oversight, Workflow Opitmizat6ion, Capacity Planning, Technology Integration and Risk Managment.
- 10-15 years' experience in Sheet Metal and Welded Metal Design.
- Ability to troubleshoot, solve problems, motivate and lead employees.
- Develop and implement comprehensive production plans that align with organizational goals, ensuring maximum efficiency and profitability.
- Analyze production workflows to identify inefficiencies, implement corrective measures, and streamline operations to achieve optimal performance.
- Assess production capacity and allocate resources effectively to meet current and future demand.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate advanced technologies and machinery into production lines, improving output and precision.
- Anticipate potential disruptions or challenges in the production process and devise contingency plans to mitigate risks.
Financial Oversight:
- Create and manage production budgets, ensuring that all activities are cost-effective and aligned with financial objectives.
- Identify and execute strategies to reduce production costs without compromising on quality or deadlines.
- Track and analyze production KPIs, such as cycle time, efficiency, and material usage, to identify trends and drive improvements.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of BS degree required.
- 10 - 15 years of experience with Sheet Metal and Welded Design
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively; capable of listening intently; visual acuity to process reports.
- Self-motivated, Can-do and Hands-on attitude that isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty.
- Able to work in a small company environment.
