VP of Human Resources (Healthcare)
I am working with a west coast based multi-site specialty dental healthcare provider that is part of a large Private Equity group. This organization has seen a great deal of growth and is looking for an experienced human resources leader who’s worked in a fast-paced and growth focused environment in the past.
The SVP of HR is a new position to the company, and will be responsible for driving company culture, strengthening values, establishing policies and procedures, and reinforcing the behaviors needed to support the company's strategy, objectives, and activities. The successful candidate is strategic, yet hands on, as many aspects of the role require individual contributions at personal, staff, business, and technology levels. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the SVP of HR will lead a geographically disbursed team. As a member of the executive team, the SVP of HR will partner with the CEO, the management team, and operating leaders in managing the company’s ongoing evolution and growth.
This organization is undergoing significant growth and has plans for future acquisitions. It will be critical for the SVP of HR to define the short- and long-term strategy, as well as ensure an alignment between HR and the business strategy.
The SVP of HR is responsible for directing all the people functions of the business in accordance with the policies and practices of the business, the ethical and social consciences of business and society and the laws, regulations and administrative rulings of governmental organizations and other regulatory and advisory authorities and organizations. They will also be responsible for the strategic human resource planning to provide the company with the best people talent available and to position the company as the Employer of Choice.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a comprehensive Human Resources roadmap to support and drive the execution of the company’s strategic vision.
- Provide impactful, business-focused HR leadership, highlighting HR’s measurable contributions to key business metrics such as revenue growth, profitability, market share, customer service, and operational expenses.
- Lead efforts in recruiting, motivating, and developing top-tier talent. Build and lead a world-class, agile, and customer-centric HR organization that thrives in a high-energy, responsive environment.
- Establish credibility and influence across all field organizations, demonstrating a proactive leadership style and serving as a change agent who earns respect by aligning HR practices with business objectives.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of the organization’s human resources strategy and performance, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals.
- Contribute to corporate planning and strategy as a trusted HR partner, focusing particularly on the impact HR decisions will have on people across the organization.
- Translate the company’s strategic and tactical business objectives into actionable HR plans and initiatives.
- Assess and advise on the impact of long-term strategies, programs, and regulatory changes on talent acquisition, motivation, development, and retention.
- Create HR planning models to identify competency, knowledge, and talent gaps, and design programs to address these gaps effectively.
- Lead the integration of multiple acquisitions, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment of people practices.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in an HR leadership role, ideally at the Director or VP level.
- Proven track record in fast-paced, private equity-backed environments, or similar dynamic settings.
- Experience managing HR across multiple sites, with expertise in supporting a distributed workforce, preferably in a clinical healthcare setting.
- BS/BA in a relevant field is required.
- Acquisition and integration experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing HR functions in multi-state and multi-site organizations, with specific experience in CA, WA, AZ, ID, OR, and NV being a significant plus.
