What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fund Accountant position at Atyant Capital?
Atyant Capital is an SEC-registered asset manager specializing in Indian equities. Atyant is seeking a fund accountant to join the South Florida based operations team. The operations team manages the day-to-day operations of the fund and monthly NAV reconciliation. This candidate will report to the COO and also support the CIO, based in India. The ideal candidate would have fund accounting experience and experience working with institutional investor clients.
The role requires an experienced, hands-on professional to ensure best practices in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment. This role is hybrid and requires the candidate to work in our Coral Springs, FL office 2 days a week.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Work closely with the Fund administrator
- Calculate monthly NAV reporting
- Facilitate investor redemptions/subscriptions
- Work closely with clients and their operations teams, including their fund administrators to reconcile any differences in reporting
- Calculate investment performance and update monthly/quarterly spreadsheets used in marketing materials
- Calculate investment performance attribution
- Communicate with Portfolio Managers and investment team members for resolving trade discrepancies
- Support IR team on ad hoc and monthly investor requests.
- Proactive daily review of trading activity
- Make recommendations and implement efficiencies to improve the team’s processes
- Review of audited financials and fund tax preparation (K-1, Federal State filings)
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3-7 years of experience in fund accounting at an asset management or private equity firm
- Experience working with Institutional Investors and a diverse set of investment vehicles such as hedge funds and SMAs.
- Strong knowledge of fund accounting and experience working with fund administrators
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced Proficiency in Excel
- Resourceful and ability to multi-task
- A self-directed individual with a can-do attitude, willing to work in a fast-paced environment, proactive in nature, and a proven ability to resolve issues with minimal supervision
