POSITION AND AVAILABILITY: Nine month, non-tenure track and not eligible for tenure, part-time teaching faculty Child Life Instructor in Human Development and Family Science in the College of Human Sciences, beginning as soon as August 16, 2025.

JOB SUMMARY: Teaches student the following skills: provides information, education, support and guidance to parents, siblings and other family members. Instruction also includes, promoting effective coping and play, preparation, education, bereavement support and self-expression activities and providing emotional support for families and encourages optimum development of children facing a broad range of challenging experiences, particularly those related to healthcare and hospitalization.

  • Instruction of child life courses as assigned.
  • Works well within a multidisciplinary team and independently.
  • Possesses exceptional advocacy skills to work alongside a multidisciplinary team in a community hospital-based setting.
  • Possess written and verbal communication skills

  • Responsive to student and facility emails

THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Human Development and Family Science includes nineteen (19) full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty and offers undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees in Human Development and Family Science.
