This is a full-time, one-year limited term position based in Mobile, AL. Continuation of employment is subject to funding availability.

Join us in making a positive impact as a 4-H Youth Development Agent Assistant.
The Agent Assistant will be responsible for implementing and coordinating the goals and objectives of the 4-H Youth program for the Mobile County Extension Office . The Agent Assistant will also assist in preparing curriculum, implementing youth related programs and working directly with youth activities. The Agent Assistant will follow and adapt when necessary, specific lesson plans designed to broaden youth social and cognitive skills through hands-on activities. Must have good organizational skills to efficiently and accurately maintain records of youth education sessions and progress, as well as follow the guidelines and policies of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. The Agent Assistant will assist and / or work with the County Extension Coordinator and 4-H Regional Extension Agent in activities that benefit the youth of the counties.

Essential Functions
- Posses a genuine passion for engaging with youth aged 5-19 on a wide range of topics.
- Demonstrate a sincere enthusiasm for collaborating with volunteers and professional staff in an educational environment, showcasing skills in recruiting, training, and motivating volunteers while fostering positive self-esteem, decision-making, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision, a readiness to align with the philosophy and standards of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, and access to reliable transportation are essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, along with proficiency in using a personal computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word and Access.

Level I : High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of experience in the organization and / or presentation of pre-designed educational programs / services, customer service, administrative support / clerical or related experience.
Level II : High school diploma or equivalent plus 6 years of experience in the organization and / or presentation of pre-designed educational programs / services, customer service, administrative support / clerical or related experience.
Substitutions allowed for Experience :
Degrees accepted in lieu of experience, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
