Job Description
The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor oversees the flow of high-value goods at the Audemars Piguet North America (APNA) logistics processing center, including Customer Service, Spare Parts, Nomad, Wholesale, and General Office courier services. Responsibilities include tracking and reporting received goods, ensuring accurate and timely processing, and managing freight bookings and rate comparisons to optimize service and budget compliance. The supervisor also develops and maintains SOPs, SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs with management, generates reports for transparency, and resolves shipment issues with relevant parties.
This role involves leading the shipping and receiving team, including temporary staff, by providing training, support, and performance evaluations while ensuring compliance with security and financial controls. The supervisor collaborates with all departments to provide logistical expertise, support day-to-day shipping needs, and uphold service and transportation standards for valuable goods.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Team Supervision: Lead and manage the shipping and receiving team, providing training, support, and performance evaluations.
- Operations Coordination: Oversee daily shipping and receiving activities, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods.
- Order Processing: Verify product availability, process orders, generate shipping documentation, and update stakeholders on order status.
- Shipment Tracking: Monitor and track shipments, update systems, address delays, and provide status updates.
- Manage shipping and receiving operations, maintaining efficiency and ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
- Design and implement training programs to enhance team performance and ensure strict adherence to safety and security protocols.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and coordinate stock replenishment.
- ERP System Management: Utilize ERP systems for stock, goods receipt, sales orders, and invoicing.
- Carrier Coordination: Work with carriers and suppliers to arrange pickups, deliveries, negotiate rates, and resolve transportation issues.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of shipping activities, including shipment details, tracking info, and required documentation.
- Problem Resolution: Address shipment discrepancies, delays, and damaged or lost goods by collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to shipping regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Security Oversight: Maintain carrier relationships and enforce established security protocols.
- Communication: Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate activities and provide updates on shipments and schedules.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as a logistics supervisor with luxury or high-end retail brands, demonstrating expertise in leading and motivating teams to foster a positive and efficient work environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with teams, management, and external partners.
- In-depth knowledge of local and international shipping regulations, compliance requirements, and accounting controls.
- Proficiency in WMS and ERP systems for inventory management, shipping logistics, and invoicing.
- Budget management experience, including creating reports for business visibility and decision-making.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for generating comprehensive reports, presentations, and operational analyses.
