Description
As an Automotive Smog Certified Diagnostic Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring vehicles meet emission standards and operate efficiently. You will diagnose and repair vehicle emission systems, perform smog inspections, and provide expert advice to customers.
Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential emission issues and safety concerns.
- Diagnostic Testing: Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment to pinpoint and diagnose specific problems within a vehicle's emission system.
- Repair and Maintenance: Perform necessary repairs and maintenance on emission control systems, including catalytic converters, oxygen sensors, and fuel injection systems.
- Smog Certification: Administer state-mandated smog inspections and certification tests, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, explaining technical issues in clear and understandable terms, and answering questions about vehicle maintenance and emissions.
- Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with the latest automotive technology, emission standards, and diagnostic techniques through ongoing training and certifications.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
- Valid state smog certification
- Proven experience as an automotive technician
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including engine mechanics, electrical systems, and emission control components
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and tools
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Valid driver's license
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools
- Ability to bend, kneel, and crawl
