What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automation Engineer position at Audubon Companies?
The Automation Engineer at Audubon shall have shown the ability to support in the specification, design, programming, and testing of automation and control systems for various industrial facilities. Ideally, they shall have served customers in the Oil & Natural Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Food and Beverage, Steel, Water / Waste Water, Power Generation, and / or Specialty spaces. They must be able to initiate customers and build relationships through first person interactions.
Essential Functions
- Responsible in supporting the specification, programming, integration, and implementation of various control systems including DCS / PLC / HMI / SCADA platforms and applications
- Will be given the opportunity to lead small to mid-sized automation and controls projects based on acquired skills and experience
- Support projects from conception through commissioning and startup
- Effectively serve within a team of engineers to execute scope within budget and maintain go-live commitments
- Visit job-sites to evaluate projects and assist in defining scope and developing proposals from walk-downs
- Assist and support proposal development according to scope definition
- Assist with change order scope, control, and development
- Review vendor drawings for compliance with project specifications
- Read, understand, and translate P&ID's and electrical drawings into a DCS / PLC / HMI application
- Interact and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, engineers, and management
- Interact with other engineering departments to develop and review drawings, specifications, and scope
- Familiarity to specify, design, program, and test Automation Systems, not limited to, but including :
PLC : SIEMENS, ALLEN-BRADLEY, EMERSON ROC, MODICON, TRICONEX, GE
