What You’ll Do
The train driver plays a vital role in enhancing the guest experience by providing informative guided tours of the exhibits along the train route, sharing an engaging overview of the zoo's history, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all visitors. The train driver's primary responsibilities include giving guided tours of exhibits along the train route, providing a brief overview of the zoo's history, and ensuring the safety of all guests.
Day to Day Responsibilities
· The driver will conduct a daily test run to ensure the train functions correctly.
· The driver is responsible for fueling and cleaning the train daily.
· The driver must be highly motivated, enthusiastic, thorough, and possess excellent customer service skills.
· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and name tag.
· Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Audubon Nature Institute standards.

· Driver must stay near the train throughout their shifts.
· Driver must interact with all internal and external guests with a positive attitude.
· Driver must report any potential hazards immediately to the Guest Services Manager and/or Supervisor.
· Performs other associated and related duties as needed and or as directed by supervisor personnel.
· Monitors activities in the work area to prevent accidents.
· Train Driver must Adhere to emergency action plans and procedures implemented for use in an emergency.
· Cautions patrons regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards; enforces and adheres to rules and regulations.
· Delivers the speech with enthusiasm and energy, ensuring that the information shared has been approved by GS leadership.

What We’re Looking For
Must Haves: (required for the role)
· Licensure/ Certification: Valid Driver’s License
· High School Diploma
· Machinery/Tools/Equipment Requirements: Must be able to use mobile devices, computers, faxes, scanners, and two-way radios. Working knowledge of vehicle operation
Physical Requirements:
· The role may involve exerting up to 25-50 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Most of the time may be spent sitting, but walking or standing for brief periods is also required.
· The ability to sit or stand, bend, and stoop, as well as carry items weighing up to specified limits, is necessary.
· A constant, adequate range of motion and mobility is required.
· Regular near vision acuity is needed, with clarity for objects at 20 inches or less.
· Drivers must be capable of collecting and analyzing numerical, written, and verbal data to draw logical conclusions and determine the time, place, and sequence of required actions or operations.
· Regular hearing ability is necessary to perceive the nature of sounds.
· A consistent ability to read, record, or type data quickly and accurately is required.
Environmental/ Working Conditions :
· Driver must work after hour event that require a driver, all driver are to work 9 event throughout the the year.
· Working long hours between breaks or meals is required.
· Ability to work under and handle stress in an appropriate manner required.
· May be exposed to high, medium, or low noise intensity.
· Constant contact with co-workers is required
· Affinity for animals preferred.
· Exposure to outdoor conditions may be necessary.
