Key Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations. This includes income, sales, property, and other tax types as required.
- Tax Reporting: Prepare and review tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and related financial statement disclosures in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research on complex tax issues and stay informed about changes in tax legislation. Provide analysis and recommendations on the potential impact of tax law changes on the company.
- Tax Planning: Support the development and implementation of tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s tax position. Work with senior tax professionals to identify opportunities for tax savings.
- Audit Support: Assist with tax audits, including the preparation of necessary documentation, responding to inquiries from tax authorities, and implementing audit findings.
- International Tax Compliance: Support the preparation and filing of international tax returns, transfer pricing documentation, and other related tasks, if applicable.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes and improve efficiency. Implement best practices for tax compliance and reporting.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with accounting, finance, legal, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain organized and accurate tax records, ensuring that all documentation is up to date and accessible for audits and internal reviews.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in tax preparation, analysis, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Thomson Reuters).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is a plus.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation.
