Job description
Position: Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Jessup, MD
Shift: 2nd shift (training is 12:00pm - 8:000m)
The shift hours will then go to 3:00pm - 11:00pm
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00/hour
Job Responsiblities of the Maintenance Mechanic:
- Evaluate the operating systems and offers improvement suggestions and assist in any redesign initiatives.
- Assist in inventory control and maintenance stores as required.
- Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair.
- Dismantle machine or equipment to examine parts for defective or to remove defective part.
- Inspect and measures part to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
- Remove and replace worn or defective parts with new part or repairs of drive mechanism or hydraulic system.
- Realign and adjust components.
- Locate damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machine, and measures, cuts, threads, and installs new pipe as required.
- Assemble and test operates machine to verify correction of malfunction.
- Ability to weld and fabricate parts as needed to effect needed repairs.
- Maintain a relatively clean maintenance shop and ensure that all shop equipment is safe to use.
Qualifications for the Maintenance Mechanic position:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must have at least 3 years of recent maintenance experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
