JOB SUMMARY:
The Lift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating powered lifting equipment, including forklifts and order pickers, to move, load, and unload materials throughout the warehouse. This position involves completing assigned work orders, ensuring accurate inventory management, and maintaining a safe working environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (includes other duties as required):
- Inspect assigned lifting equipment daily to ensure it is in safe operating condition and report any safety or mechanical issues to the supervisor.
- Safely operate forklifts and electric-powered stock order pickers to position lifting devices properly, inspect loads for weight distribution, and ensure secure transport.
- Unload and sort incoming shipments, ensuring containers are unloaded within designated timeframes.
- Pull audit and conduct quality checks on materials.
- Sort and organize fabric and other inventory items as needed.
- Transport materials from staging areas to designated storage or picking locations using powered equipment.
- Load and unload materials from pallets or trucks, and utilize RF scanners to initiate warehouse management system transactions.
- Respond to urgent needs communicated via walkie-talkie and assist in special projects as requested.
- Compare identifying information and counts of incoming shipments to verify against packing slips or bills of lading.
- Assemble and verify customer orders, ensuring accuracy before returning items to designated locations.
- Maintain cleanliness in the warehouse, including sweeping floors and disposing of trash.

- Ability to earn certification for operating forklifts and other powered lifting equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Non-temperature-controlled warehouse, which can be hot in the summer and cool in the winter.
WORK HOURS:
- Full-Time, Monday- Friday, 10:00AM-6:30PM
- Overtime and weekend work may be required during busy periods.
DRESS CODE:
- Dress appropriate.
- Closed-toe shoes are required.
