JOB SUMMARY:
The Sewing Operator safely operates a sewing machine to join, reinforce, decorate, or perform related sewing machine tasks in the manufacture of garments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (includes other duties as required):
- Inspects equipment to ensure it is operating properly and mounts needles and/or attachments as needed for the project.
- Monitors equipment while in operation to detect defects immediately.
- Places spools of thread, inserts bobbins, and threads ends through guides and components.
- Properly positions items under needles.
- Sews assigned pieces as directed.
- Attaches buttons, hooks, zippers, fasteners, or other accessories as directed.
- Performs specialized or automatic sewing machine functions such as buttonhole making or tacking.
- Cuts excess material or thread from finished products.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Ability to operate a sewing machine.
- Ability to use hand tools such as scissors.

- The noise level is moderate. Hearing protection is typically not required.
- Hand protection is provided as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Warehouse, temperature controlled area.
WORK HOURS:
- Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM.
- Overtime could be scheduled, based upon work volumes, but would be announced by the Leader.
DRESS CODE:
- Dress appropriate.
- Wear the required PPE.
