Description : Summary
This position reports to the Tribal Facilities Manager and Tribal Facilities Supervisor. A person in this position will be responsible for assisting the Tribal Facilities Manager and Tribal Facilities Supervisor in the day-to-day functions of the Tribal Facilities department. At the direction of the Tribal Facilities Supervisor, this person will efficiently utilize the Jr Engineers assigned to them to perform their job duties in areas including but not limited to maintaining and repairing equipment, scheduling and planning projects, troubleshooting electrical problems, HVAC problems, commercial refrigeration problems, working on high voltage systems, repair and maintenance of solar arrays and associated equipment, and the operation of heavy equipment. A person in this position will work with the utmost regard for the health and safety of not only themselves but all Tribal staff while keeping the integrity of the environment of the reservation in high regard. This position will require a rotating on-call schedule on weekends, after hours and possibly holidays. The Tribal Facilities Engineer may be required to occasionally work beyond the hours they are scheduled.
Responsibilities
- Responding to scheduled work requests and performing preventative maintenance, facility walkthroughs / and in-depth inspections.
- Assisting in the training of junior engineers.
- Assisting Tribal EPA in land maintenance projects
- Maintenance of solar farm.
- Providing maintenance and repair services to Tribally owned homes for Tribal Members.

If none of the applicants should meet the stated qualifications, applicants whose education and experience are less than the stated requirements, may be interviewed and hired provided the applicant hired submits a formal written training plan within (30) thirty days which can be completed within a reasonable time agreed upon by the supervisor and the applicant. Applicants who are hired and fail to meet the agreed upon formal training program, will be discharged upon failure to complete the specified training as so scheduled.
