Position Overview:
We are seeking an outgoing and knowledgeable Bar Manager with at least 5 years of experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in bar operations and customer relations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for wine, have extensive knowledge of various beers, and be skilled at building lasting relationships with guests and staff. As a Bar Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the bar operations, managing staff, and ensuring an outstanding experience for our guests, and becoming a leader for our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Bar Operations: Oversee daily operations, including ordering inventory, managing supplies, and ensuring proper sanitation practices.
- Lead & Mentor Staff: Supervise, train, and develop bar staff, ensuring the team delivers exceptional service.
- Customer Relations: Build strong, personal connections with customers, fostering a welcoming and friendly environment. Address customer feedback and resolve any issues promptly.
- Wine & Beverage Expertise: Work alongside our wine buyer to curate and maintain an extensive wine list, ensuring it aligns with the restaurant's overall concept. Demonstrate a deep knowledge of wine and beer, offering recommendations and guiding guests through beverage choices.
- Ensure Compliance: Maintain a clean and safe bar environment in accordance with local health regulations and alcohol laws.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a bartender or bar manager in a high-volume environment.
- Wine Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of wines, wine pairings, and other alcoholic beverages. Certifications recognized by the Court of Master Sommeliers and/or WSET is a plus.
- Customer Service: Excellent customer relations skills, with a focus on building a loyal customer base and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Leadership: Proven experience managing and motivating a team, with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality service standards.
- Flexibility: Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Physical Demands : Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs, standing for long periods of time, proper balance on carrying wine glasses and water glasses.
- Organizational Skills : Spreadsheets for inventory, daily cash log accounting, understanding Microsoft Word for menus, and a general understanding for POS systems and administrative systems.
