Job Description:
Early Childhood and Youth Educators are responsible to provide holistic, quality and inclusive care to children between the ages of 3M to 12 years at our comprehensive childcare center in Juneau, Alaska.
Educators support child care through facilitating daily activities, building social connection with children and promoting their learning and development through play and routine. Early Childhood Educators are responsible for maintaining safety of the group of children by following State Licensing requirements. All experience levels are encouraged to apply. We provide on-boarding training, continued education and many opportunities for upward movement and professional development for all of our Education staff.
There are multiple job openings for Educators and applicant roles and wages are dependent on education, experience, alignment, interests, achievement, attunement and attitude.
Our classrooms include: Infant, Mobile Infant, Pre-Toddler, Toddler, Preschool, PreKindergarten, and Afterschool
Essential Functions:
1. Follow guidance from center administrators, follow daily care schedules, transitions, rituals and activity plans
2. Care for infants, toddlers, preschool, and primary age children per development stages encouraging organic learning
3. Ensure the safety of all children in sight

Supervisory Responsibility
Educators may have various degrees of supervisory responsibility dependent on assigned role. All Educators report to the Executive Director and Assistant Director.
Work Environment
This position operates in a child care center. Staff will interact with children and their families on a daily basis.
Physical Demands
This position requires regular standing, walking, squatting, and sometimes rigorous activity including lifting supplies, or children. Staff must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job.
Position Type/Expected hours of work
This is a full-time position requiring a 40 hour work week. A shift may be between the hours 6:00am and 6:00pm Monday through Friday. Federal overtime rules apply and all staff receive paid holidays throughout the year.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma
1-2 years experience working with children of a variety of ages, especially infants and toddlers
Upon Hire, staff will complete:
1. State/Federal Background Check
2. Adult/Pediatric CPR/First Aid
