OR CLINCAL TECH - SURGERY

BASIC FUNCTION:

An Operating Room Clinical Technician, Surgical Services is a non-licensed colleague who performs various clinical and non-clinical duties related to the pre-operative and post-op patient for both the Operating Room and Anesthesia Departments. The ORCT works under the direction of the OR Charge RN, Perioperative Coordinator/Educator, Director of Surgical Services and Director of Anesthesiology.  The ORCT may be responsible to take calls, holidays and weekends included, as scheduled by the Director of Surgical Services.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE:

High school graduate or equivalent. Required the age of 18 or older. Previous experience preferred.

Previous clinical patient care is preferred in a hospital setting, preferably in the Operating Room.

Ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology. 

BLS/CPR certification must be achieved within 3 months of employment and maintained on an ongoing basis.

Must be computer-literate to complete task (s) as required
