Operations Manager

Aurelius Manufacturing is looking for an Operations Manager to join our team! The Operations Manager oversees all operational aspects of the manufacturing process including production, building & grounds maintenance, and material management. Leads, motivates, and develops cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous learning. Ensures compliance with the Aurelius Quality and Safety Programs and supports the HR Department in all personnel processes. This position reports to the President and is a member of the Aurelius Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a member of the Aurelius Leadership Team which works to define and achieve organizational objectives.
• Supervises the Facilities Manager providing guidance for budget and activities for building & grounds maintenance, equipment maintenance and repair, toolmaking, and project work.
• Manages the scheduling, planning, and production processes to ensure customer expectations and quality standards are met.
• Leads and supervises the production team to ensure production and efficiency goals are met. Develops a high-performing team through effective training, mentoring and performance management.
• Develops and implements strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs and increase productivity.
• Manages and mentors the production support team to achieve operational and customer service excellence.
• Oversees the Purchasing Department and material management processes.
• Champion Aurelius’ Quality and Safety programs. Partners with the Safety Manager and Quality Specialist to ensure programs comply with industry standards.
• Supports the HR Department with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, performance reviews, employee discipline and separation of employment.
• Performs other duties as required to meet business needs and support overall operational success.

Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business or equivalent preferred.
• Five years of experience in operations management in a mixed mode (make to order, make to stock) manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and understanding of all areas of responsibility.
• Effective interpersonal skills to resolve conflict and facilitate corrective action while fostering an environment that supports our company values and philosophy.
• Motivated, willing to learn, and continually seeks to find a better way.
• Positive attitude, strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with others.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Office and machine shop environments requiring sitting, standing and walking. Exposure to moving parts, noise, dust, industrial solvents, liquids, and other materials. Must be capable of wearing the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) necessary to comply with company safety policies.
