Aureon Consulting has an immediate need for Technical Writer with great attention to detail, interested in working with both technical and compliance related documentation. This role would be an excellent opportunity for a young professional looking to grow their career in technical writing, documentation governance, and business systems analysis within a multi-year, high-impact program.
Purpose: The Technical Writer/Document Analyst will be essential in meeting the documentation and governance requirements of a large, critical program for a client in the Life/Annuity industry. This entry-level role involves creating, organizing, and maintaining technical and process documentation in line with established governance standards. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, architects, developers, and project managers, to produce high-quality deliverables and promote best practices in documentation.
Accountabilities:
- Develop, edit, and maintain technical and process documentation, such as user guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), design specifications, and governance frameworks.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to the program’s governance standards and is stored in appropriate repositories.
- Work with Business Systems Analysts (BSAs), architects, developers, and other stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document information related to processes and systems.
- Create and maintain document templates and tools to ensure consistency and usability.
- Conduct periodic reviews of documentation to ensure accuracy, relevance, and compliance with governance policies.
- Participate actively in meetings, capturing detailed notes and converting them into formalized documentation for stakeholders.
- Utilize existing platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence) to create and maintain a central document repository and ensure proper version control.
- Support internal and external audit requests by providing organized and up-to-date documentation.
- Identify opportunities to streamline documentation processes and enhance governance practices proactively.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with documentation tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and Confluence is highly preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools and systems.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with SharePoint and/or Confluence is preferred.
- Basic understanding of technical concepts, such as software development processes and cloud technologies, is a plus.
