What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Administrator position at Aureon?
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users on hardware, software, network, and other IT-related issues.
- Administer and maintain servers, workstations, and other IT infrastructure components to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
- Manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, to maintain connectivity and data integrity.
- Proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Fortinet firewalls.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures, such as antivirus software, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems, to safeguard against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Respond to IT service requests and incidents in a timely and professional manner, troubleshooting issues and resolving them efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Assist in the planning, deployment, and maintenance of IT projects, including software upgrades, hardware installations, and network expansions.
- Document IT systems, procedures, and configurations to ensure accurate records and facilitate knowledge sharing among team members.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in IT, and recommend innovative solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with vendors and external service providers to procure IT equipment, software licenses, and technical services as needed.
- Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT tools and applications to enhance their proficiency and productivity.
- Participate in IT-related meetings, discussions, and initiatives, contributing insights and recommendations to support organizational objectives.
- Demonstrate commitment to providing outstanding customer service
- Assume additional duties as defined by supervisor and executive management

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar IT role, demonstrating proficiency in system administration, network management, and technical support.
Preferred
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , Security , or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA).
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, virtualization technologies, and ITIL practices.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with end-users and stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in system administration tasks, including software installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Sound knowledge of networking principles and protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and best practices, including data encryption, access controls, and security awareness training.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Indoor work primarily in office environments, with occasional travel to remote locations as needed.
- Frequent use of computers, keyboards, and other IT equipment for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting, bending, and carrying of IT hardware and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional visits to client locations as required
- Availability to work outside of standard business hours occasionally to perform maintenance or support critical operations.
