Starting salary: $45,000—55,000 based on experience

Our mission is to enhance the economic and environmental well-being of our region, currently comprising twelve vibrant communities: Aurora, Batavia, Big Rock, Elburn, Geneva, Hinckley, Montgomery, North Aurora, Oswego, Plano, Sugar Grove, and Yorkville. Job Summary & Responsibilities

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Marketing Coordinator to join our team. The functions of this role will include social media, website management, email marketing, reporting and analytics to support our mission of promoting the Aurora Area of Illinois as a top Midwest travel destination. Other duties may be assigned, for example transporting print collateral, welcoming tour groups, and other responsibilities shared by the Aurora Area CVB team.


Social Media Management

  • Develop, implement, and manage social media strategies across platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Create engaging content that highlights the attractions, events, and unique experiences in the Aurora Area.
  • Curate and execute a social media content calendar aligned with seasonal themes and business needs. 
  • Monitor social media channels for trends, feedback, and engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to plan and execute social media campaigns.
  • Track and report on social media performance metrics.


Website Management CMS & CRM

  • Maintain and update the AACVB website via content management (CMS) and client/customer relationship management (CRM) systems to ensure all business listings, event information, and travel content is current, accurate, and engaging.
  • Work with the Director of Marketing to develop and implement website content strategies that align with overall marketing goals.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of trails, itinerary, and check-in challenge content. 
  • Monitor website performance and user experience, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Issue and track support requests with our website vendor to ensure timely and accurate implementation of fixes and updates.  


Email Marketing

  • Assist in the development and execution of email marketing campaigns to promote events, special offers, travel guides, and seasonal content. 
  • Manage the email marketing calendar and coordinate with the Director of Sales and Director of Marketing to ensure timely and relevant content.
  • Segment email lists based on behavior and demographics to deliver targeted messages.
  • Monitor and report on email campaign performance, including open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates.


Analytics & Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various digital marketing channels to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Generate regular reports on website traffic, social media engagement, email campaign effectiveness, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Use analytics tools such as Google Analytics, social media insights, and email marketing platforms to inform strategic decisions.
  • Present findings and recommendations to the marketing team and stakeholders.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, certifications, or equivalent working experience in Marketing, Tourism & Hospitality, Communications, Business, or a related field. Strong preference for candidates with experience in a destination marketing setting.
  • Experience in digital marketing, social media management, content creation, or a related role, preferably with exposure to both B2B and B2C campaigns. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in popular social media platforms (Meta, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn) and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Heap, Domo, Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
  • Experience with content creation tools (e.g., Adobe suite, Figma, Sketch, Canva, or similar). 
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Act-On, Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Hubspot, Simpleview, or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for Illinois travel and tourism. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment with multiple responsibilities. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license. 
  • Available for primarily in-office work, with occasional job responsibilities to include weekday evenings and weekends.
