Come join our team of professionals at Aurora Behavioral Health System. This free-standing psychiatric inpatient hospital and outpatient program, located in Tempe, Arizona, is looking for a Medical Records Specialist. Our psychiatric facility is licensed to treat adolescents and adults for a wide range of psychiatric conditions and chemical dependency.
This position supports the Health Information Management department through a variety of clerical, technical and related support services.
Duties to include :
- Retrieve charts from the nursing units
- Assemble and analyze charts for completeness
- Copy and fax documents to outside providers
- Processing record requests (ROI)
INDLOW
Requirements : High School diploma or verifiable equivalent preferred. Six months clerical experience, preferred to include : computer skills, Microsoft Excel, volume copying, filing and record-keeping skills, work organization, prioritization, and time management skills. Must be familiar with general medical terminology; psychiatric terminology helpful. Ability to analyze charts independently; ability to make decisions on the release of information a must. Knowledge of HIPAA required. Must be customer service oriented. Must be 21 years of age or older; Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, and meet qualifications for an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
