Position: Aurora High School Guidance Office Secretary
Required Credential: High School Diploma; Undergraduate Degree Preferred
Salary/Contract: Fiscal Year 25: ACSD Secretarial Class B Hourly Rate; 223 Days
Anticipated Start Date: January 5, 2025 (With the potential for training/shadowing days in December of 2024)
Description:
Aurora High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Guidance Office Secretary to join a dynamic department. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a student-centered learning environment promoting academic success, social-emotional well-being, and college/career planning while possessing exceptional communication, data management and problem-solving skills as an experienced, internally motivated and creative learner who epitomizes the Aurora City School District's core competencies of balance, collaboration, critical thinking, empathy, innovation and resilience.
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following characteristics or who have experience in the following areas:
Student Success and Support:
- Familiarity/Experience with Secondary Course Tracking, Sequencing and EMIS Coding
- Familiarity/Experience with College Credit Plus (CCP) protocols, policies and procedures
- Familiarity/Experience with Transcript creation and maintenance
- Familiarity/Experience with Report Cards and Grade Adjustments/GPA Calculations
- Familiarity/Experience with College/Career Readiness Platforms (SCOIR, Naviance, SchoolLinks)
- Familiarity/Experience with Graduation Eligibility Processes and Protocols
- Familiarity/Experience with New Student Enrollment/Withdrawal Process
Collaboration and Advocacy:
- Ability to communicate effectively in person with students, staff and families
- Ability to communicate effectively electronically with students, staff and families
- Ability to communicate effectively over the phone with students, staff and families
- Ability to collaborate with others on various projects including multiple awards ceremonies
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and projects
- Ability to creatively and proactively problem-solve across a multitude of domains
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with student records, data and counseling-related services (FERPA)
- Ability to maintain detailed data with accuracy and precision
Data-Driven Improvement and Professional Growth:
- Familiarity/Experience with DASL and ProgressBook
- Familiarity/Experience with EMIS Coding and Tracking processes and protocols
- Familiarity/Experience with Ohio District Data Exchange (ODDEX) processes and protocols
- Familiarity/Experience with the Master Scheduling Process
- Familiarity/Experience with NCAA eligibility process
- Proficiency/Experience with Microsoft and Google Suite Products
- Proficiency/Experience with all forms of data entry
- Desire to engage in professional learning/development opportunities aligned with the role
