Come and work for a 2042 Top Workplace USA and be a part of our Warehouse team at our Platteville, CO processing facility on the night shift.
6pm - 6am
Thursday - Saturday with alternating Wednesday's.
The Material Handler is responsible for receiving all incoming raw material, chemical and other supplies. They are also responsible for organizing and maintaining the inventory in the dry storage area as well as staging raw materials needed for production runs.
Essential Responsibilities:
- All plant personnel have the responsibility to monitor and report any deviations from our Food Safety and Food Quality (HACCP & SQF) programs to your immediate supervisor.
- Offload and put away deliveries of packaging materials using a fork truck or pallet jack.
- Complete paper logs or entry into ERP system using scan gun or computer for all incoming deliveries.
- Maintain organization of the warehouse so all materials are used FIFO; maintain all raw materials in a manner consistent with QA Standards (rewrap all carton pallets before returning to racks, secure partial box pallets and fill out any required QA paperwork).
- Stage cartons and other materials required for each day’s production run, incorporating tracking logs and specific staging forms.
- Maintain accurate information regarding trailer yard inventory.
- Re-warehouse inventory to prepare for incoming shipments and to make pulling FIFO easier for all material handlers. Conduct nightly cycle counts, fix errors in the ERP system, and advise manager of any problems.
- Will be responsible for retrieving/putting away pallets as high as 24 feet utilizing Stand-up fork trucks and Bendi Articulated fork trucks.
- Accuracy, integrity, ability to self-direct as well as work as a team member, and ability to work in a fast-paced deadline focused environment a must. Ability to communicate effectively via radio, text message and email with all team members.
- Must be comfortable and possess basic competency with computers to read and send emails, download reports and have basic Excel skills to manipulate reports required for cycle counts.
Other Required Responsibilities:
- Sort defective boxes and prepare pallets for disposal based on suppliers’ requirements.
- Other projects as directed by manager.
Knowledge & Experience
- Dry warehouse experience preferred.
- Experience with Stand-Up fork trucks and Bendi Articulated fork trucks a must
- Inventory management experience in a production environment preferred.
- Ability to use scan gun to receive and move pallets as well as learn and become proficient in company’s ERP system.
- Must be able to take the initiative, work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to pass and maintain state forklift safety certification.
- Good organizational skills and solid grasp of the needs of production to keep storage inventory at optimum levels.
- Microsoft Office and proficient in basic Excel required.
- Ability to use basic office equipment such as copier, scanner and laminator.
Physical Requirements:
Must possess the physical ability to work the entire shift on the plant floor working in a cool, wet environment with temperatures ranging between 34-38 degrees will be a requirement. Standing, walking, climbing, repetitive bending, repetitive stooping, repetitive reaching with arms and repetitive grasping with hands and fingers. Must have the ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment working around production machines, warehouse equipment, forklifts, large trucks, and tankers.
