The Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) at Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is a multidisciplinary team providing cutting-edge care for individuals experiencing mental health crises. The team consists of nurses, a prescriber, mental health clinicians, and case management staff who offer psychiatric care, psychotherapy, and social interventions in a five-day overnight unit.
We are seeking PRN Nurse Practitioners (NP) to pick up PRN shifts. The CSU NP will perform medication evaluations, medication management, and psychiatric assessments for patients when the unit is full. This in-person, daytime position is supported by other prescribers, fostering a collaborative environment to find solutions for complex healthcare challenges at both individual and system levels.
$1,000 Sign On Bonus Available! *Not eligible for internal employees and re-hired employees within 90 days from separation.
Based on PRN status working at least 1 shift per pay period or as needed. Paid in two installments: 50% on the first paycheck, and 50% on the paycheck following 6-month anniversary.
Salary for this role. The starting wage is based on years of licensure and company equity and paid bi-weekly.
- $58.94 - $73.62 per hour
Schedule. This position is fully onsite/in-person. The schedule will vary to include 1 face-to-face patient care shift per pay period.
Essential Functions:
- Provide direct psychiatric services through the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment of patients assigned, on a regular basis. As within the State outlined scope of practice.
- Assure clinicians in assigned services receive appropriate clinical supervision, as necessary.
- Work with multidisciplinary staff to evaluate and triage according to level of acuity, as needed.
- Share 24-hour on call responsibilities with other psychiatrists for residential, outpatient and emergency care, as assigned.
- Maintain availability by telephone for face-to-face evaluation of emergency patients, as appropriate.
- Provide utilization review of all patients in continuing care to ensure appropriate medical/psychiatric services are received, as needed.
- Attend team and other meetings, as necessary.
- Provide consultation with staff on patient care and difficult cases, as needed.
- Understand and comply with organizational goals around quality, compliance, standards, and policies.
- Complete required education and training in a timely manner.
- Accurately and completely document patient care. Provide information to credentialing, payroll, etc. in a timely manner
- Monitor and coordinate care for assigned clients in partnership with the other members of the client's care team.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Nursing with Prescriptive Authority.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry.
- Current Colorado NP license in good standing with State.
- Certified as an advanced practitioner of nursing by Colorado State Board of Nursing.
- Valid and Current DEA.
- Current knowledge of pharmacology.
- Ability to administer medications and injections.
- Knowledge of diagnoses and theoretical issues related to clinical treatment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn/utilize electronic health record.
- Treatment philosophy consistent with managed care principles.
Required Vaccination and TB Test.
