Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a dedicated Master's-level Student Intern who is bilingual in Spanish and English to join the Youth Autism & IDD Counseling Center (AICC-Y). This specialized internship offers the opportunity to provide individual, family, and group therapy to youth aged 6 to 21 with intellectual or developmental disabilities. AICC-Y delivers comprehensive outpatient services, including therapy, medication management, and case management, while training professionals to adapt mental health treatment for dually diagnosed youth. The Bilingual Intern will actively engage in therapy delivery, professional development opportunities, and collaborative team meetings, gaining valuable experience in a supportive and specialized environment.
Accepting applications for Master’s-level Student Interns for Now, Spring, or Fall 2025 start dates. The internship can range from 4 months to 1 year, with flexibility to accommodate individual needs.
Schedule. The internship requires a commitment of 16-20 hours per week and follows the supervisor's schedule:
Monday: In-person (8:00 AM - 2:00 PM), Virtual (3:30 PM - 5:30 PM)
Tuesday: In-person (8:00 AM - 2:00 PM), Virtual (3:30 PM - 5:30 PM)
Wednesday: In-person (8:00 AM - 2:00 PM), Virtual (3:30 PM - 5:30 PM)
About you.
- Master's Level Student working towards a degree Counseling, Psychology or Social Work. Preferred completion of practicum clinical experience.
- The ideal candidate is energetic, passionate about supporting youth with dual diagnoses, and eager to employ innovative and adaptive therapeutic techniques to enhance client outcomes.

Qualifications
Required Vaccination and TB Test.
At AMHR the health and safety of our clients and staff are our top priorities. As part of this commitment, all employees are required to receive an annual influenza (flu) shot and present a negative TB test result before their first day of work. Proof of both the flu shot and negative TB test must be provided on your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions can be requested if necessary.
