The Autism & IDD Counseling Center-Youth (AICC-Y) at Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a dedicated Student Intern to join our team in providing specialized mental health services for youth aged 6 to 21 years old with intellectual or developmental disabilities. AICC-Y offers comprehensive outpatient services, including individual, family, and group therapy, medication management, and case management, while also training mental health professionals on adapting treatment for dually diagnosed youth. The Student Intern will engage in delivering therapy, participating in professional development, and collaborating in team meetings.
Schedule. Seeking an intern for October 2025 - June 2026 (but flexible), 16-20 hours per week. Mondays & Tuesdays are remote, and Wednesdays & Thursdays are in-person. Hours can range based on intern requirements.
About you.
- Master's Level Student working towards a degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work. Preferred completion of practicum clinical experience.
- The ideal candidate is energetic, passionate about supporting youth with dual diagnoses, and eager to employ innovative and adaptive therapeutic techniques to enhance client outcomes.

Qualifications
Required Vaccination and TB Test.
At AMHR the health and safety of our clients and staff are our top priorities. As part of this commitment, all employees are required to receive an annual influenza (flu) shot and present a negative TB test result before their first day of work. Proof of both the flu shot and negative TB test must be provided on your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions can be requested if necessary.
