What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager of Grant and Loan Portfolio position at Aurora Regional Economic Alliance?

The Alliance represents an exciting new chapter for the community of Aurora, Illinois, where the Alliance will drive workforce development, empower small, minority, and women-owned business, and fuel innovation and entrepreneurship in the Aurora community. We are a small organization looking to make a big impact!
We are currently looking for someone to join us full time who has experience in managing Grants and Loans. With the guidance of a Loan Committee, you will be responsible for overseeing all facets of the Alliance's programs for providing grants and loans to local businesses.
You will also be responsible for the entire proposal process to obtain grants from outside sources. This includes identifying funding opportunities, researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals, managing grant funded programs and maintaining relationships with funders.
Are you qualified? Here is what we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Finance).
- 3-5 years of experience/knowledge of grant funding policies and procedures
- Proven experience in grant writing and management.
- Strong understanding of financial management and budgeting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

NOTE: Applicants must already reside in the Chicagoland area and are willing to commute to the Aurora office, as relocation assistance is NOT offered for this role.
