At Aurora Sewing Center, we are a family-owned business with three retail locations (East Aurora, NY, Williamsville, NY, and Victor, NY), proudly serving the Western New York sewing community for over 45 years. We specialize in all things sewing including EDCUATION and INSPIRATION within sewing, embroidery, quilting and serging!

This role is flexible and classroom openings are available at each of our store locations, including within our virtual classroom. We are looking for individuals who are creative, self-motivated, and knowledgeable in their craft who enjoy working, inspiring and assisting a variety of other sewers - that have or can create their own lesson plan and present/teach it others.

Responsibilities:
- Have a professional and dynamic approach to teaching to provide an excellent educational and classroom customer experience
- Propose, construct and present a well-organized class project/lesson plan, including learning and showcasing techniques that incorporate store products
- Create well-made samples in advance of scheduled classes to inspire students and work out kinks as part of your lesson plan
- Have working knowledge and ability to learn more about a variety of sewing machines/techniques/supplies.
- Promote and maintain a fun, safe working classroom environment, that is supportive and inspiring classroom for students
- Willing to learn, try and explore new machines, products and techniques
- Effectively work with the store’s marketing resources to promote your developed classes
- Ability to safely enter store and open classroom 15-mins before class starts, and at the end of class clean-up classroom and close store.
Qualifications:
- Creative, inspiring, energetic, supportive and assisting personality
- A Minimum of 5 years of in-depth machine sewing experience
- Sewing/Embroidery/Quilting/Serger and/or Software knowledge
- Excellent communication, presentation, verbal & written skills
- Enthusiastic and inspiring drive to teach customers crafting knowledge
- Strong commitment to customer service and teaching, with follow through
- Strong organizational skills & ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Team player. Effectively work and communicate with store staff
