Position Purpose:
The anticipated pay rate for this position is $1,000 for every 5 students enrolled in the course.
Aurora University seeks talented adjunct faculty who are passionate about teaching and learning. Adjunct faculty are qualified part-time instructors offered teaching opportunities based on course demand and staffing.
Essential Job Functions:
Teaching Responsibilities
AU Online faculty should be present and engaged in courses by doing the following:
- Regular activity and presence in the classroom through the learning management system (at least four days a week, with one day on Saturday or Sunday) as an active and guiding participant, including discussion forums.
- Host regular, scheduled weekly synchronous virtual office hours.
- Meet weekly grading deadlines and maintain up-to-date grade books.
- Be responsive to student email messages and requests for assistance.
- Provide mentorship in the discipline and content expertise.
- Respond to all university and departmental requests, emails, messages, and correspondence.
- This is an asynchronous online program. Faculty members are expected to be engaged in the online course no fewer than four days per week, one of those days on the weekend. A weekly one-hour synchronous office hour hosted in Zoom is also required.
Essential Job Requirements:
An MSW degree and a minimum of two years of professional experience are required.
Experience teaching a fieldwork class is strongly preferred and online teaching experience is a plus.
