About The Role
- Prepare control deliverables such as Control Narrative, Cause and Effect diagram, Control system architecture, loop drawings, plant site communication and IT requirements
- Provide I&C input to process P&ID
- Prepare instrument deliverables such as equipment list, IO list, I/O assignment, Instrument Index, Serial Interface list, cable list, etc.
- Provide input to mechanical packages
- Prepare Instrumentation Datasheets for ON/OFF valve, control valve, flowmeter, densitometers, transmitters, pressure safety valve, Motor operated valves, Hydraulic power units, etc.
- Perform Instrument sizing calculations
- Prepare and review RFQ, approving vendor document
- Prepare technical specifications for purchased equipment
- Prepare technical evaluations of supplier’s proposals
- Provide technical support to the designers
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a US or internationally recognized University
- Licensed Engineer in USA
- 10 years’ experience related to I&C design with experience in mining and mineral processing
- Prior industry experience in concentrator and POX projects considered an asset
- Knowledge of SPI (SmartPlant instrumentation) is a key.
- Knowledge of instrumentation application, sizing, selection, installation and operation.
- Working knowledge and understanding of applicable codes and industry standards
- Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment;
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and excel in a fast-paced environment
