REPORTS TO: Human Resources Manager
SUPERVISES: None
The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for supporting compliance for the company policies, processes and procedures. This incumbent is also responsible for assisting Human Resources Business Partners with various employee relations related responsibilities including corrective actions and investigations. The incumbent will also be responsible for all time and attendance responsibilities and partnering with the Human Resources Benefits Leadership team on various projects as assigned.
AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for maintaining Time and Attendance procedures and reviews and recommends job abandonment's for processing
- Reviews time and attendance records for accuracy and insure information is properly recorded and initiate conversation with employees regarding time and attendance
- Reviews time and attendance reports alerting appropriate supervisor and/or HR Business Partner of potential problems/errors or when the employee accrues a level of absenteeism requiring notification
- Resolves employee attendance disputes and engages HR Business Partners as necessary
- Assist with the performance appraisal process & monitoring of merit guidelines
- Assists HR Business Partners with corrective actions and investigations as directed
- Serves as alternative point of contact for employees seeking HR services and provides information to others in HR as appropriate.
- Support employee activities and events
- Assist employees with benefit program and questions, including:
- Administrative duties in support of Company provided benefits such as health, dental, disability, critical illness, flexible spending accounts, 401k and life insurance per Company policies and Summary Plan Descriptions
- Advises individuals regarding benefit program eligibility and coverage for such as group health, dental, vision, life insurance and open voluntary enrollment periods.
- Guides employees through benefit process and assists with new hire benefits orientation.
- Troubleshoots issues with benefit enrollment and payroll deductions; Investigates and resolves benefit plan discrepancies and provides information in routine situations.
- Assists with Open Enrollment activities and distributing group benefit information to employees.
- Engages in special projects as required; may take on short-term stretch assignments.
- Assists with other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resource or related field required; OR equivalent work experience
- 0- 2 years’ experience in Human Resources,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline oriented environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours as requested.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of HRIS systems preferred, Work Day a plus
- Detail-oriented, extremely organized with the ability to learn new programs and procedures quickly.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and sensitivity dealing with confidential information.
- Ability to exercise critical thinking skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Must maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
