Director of R&D and Quality
Salary $130,000 – $165,000 Benefits Bonus Paid Relocation to FLORIDA
This growing manufacturer is hiring a Director of R&D and Quality! You’ll oversee major R&D programs and ensure quality standards are met. You will lead technical projects, manage quality functions, and interface with customers to drive innovation and growth.
Ideally, we are looking to hire a chemistry, organic chemistry, or chemical engineering PhD who has an in-depth knowledge of MDI, TDI chemistries, reactive hot melt chemistry, and raw material offsets.

As the Director of R&D and Quality, your responsibilities will be:
- Oversee R&D programs and coordinate multiple projects.
- Ensure conformance to the company quality management system.
- Design and develop products within budget constraints.
- Implement and maintain R&D procedures and initiate improvements.
- Manage quality functions, including root cause analysis and supporting plant operations.
- Interface with customers regarding formulations, scale-up, and development.
- Manage staff for onboarding and scale-up processes.
- Develop and review technical agendas and timelines for R&D projects.
- Recommend resource allocation and communicates progress.
- Oversee the R&D facility and maintain communication with the analytical lab staff.
- Lead project teams through new product development and factory integration.
- Conduct complex research experiments and analyze substances.
- Collaborate with Purchasing for raw material procurement.
- Approve Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for new chemical raw materials.
- Lead strategic initiatives in R&D to drive revenue and growth.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and health policies & practices.
Minimum qualification for this Director of R&D and Quality position:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering,
- Proficiency in chemistry, mathematics, biology, engineering principles, and chemical mixing technology.
- Experience with REACTIVE HOT MELT.
- Years of experience must include & can be the same years:
- At least 5 years of experience in chemical formulations and polyurethanes.
- At least 3 years of experience in an industrial R&D environment.
- At least 5 years of experience managing complex projects and 2 of those years in R&D management.
Salary : $130,000 - $165,000
