Interaction Specialist
We need outgoing people to help create amazing guest interactive experiences with our many reptiles, birds, fish, and mammals. Qualities possessed for this position is high energy, engaging, friendly, and confidence. A people person who enjoys sharing knowledge & love of animals and interaction with kids and adults alike.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Look over and care for the animals in the aviary
- do the opening and closing duties to keep the aviaries clean
- Carry an animal or work in an enclosure around the facility to enhance our guest's interactive experience.
- Answers visitors' questions about the facility and the animals, as necessary.
- Reports irregular behaviors of animals to management.
- Reports maintenance issues and potential safety hazards to management.
- Carries out duties and job assignments, delegated by appropriate management.
Desired Skills & Experience
Candidates must possess the ability to interact and communicate well with guests and co-workers.
Hands on experience with birds, reptiles and exotic mammals a plus.
The ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with ease, able to stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, climb, jump, rake, sweep and carry objects for short distances, possess visual acuity appropriate for animal care and general safety practices, be able to remain on feet for long periods of time, and be able to lift and reach overhead.
The ability to maintain a positive attitude while working individually and with others in a team environment is essential.
